Summer 2014

Hello, peeps!

So during the summer vacation, I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism with slight TSH elevation (4,8) and T4 in normal range (17,4). My GP said this does not mean I’m hypothyroid, but I found it odd because I had so many symptoms. I could sit inside my house with a heather, even though it was sunny and so warm outside. I was constantly cold. I started loosing so much hair, and my skin was dry like sahara. Not to mention my weight, I used to fit XS, or could even fit into XSS if i could find clothes with such a small size. But then suddenly, kaboooom! I went from XSS-XS to M, almost L – really fast! I had no idea what was going on at that time. Until everything made sense, its all because of my thorid.

I went to an endocrinologist, she did the examination (not the blood work) and suggested I should start taking 25 ug Levothyroxine for one month and then have my hormones checked again.

I did exactly what she told me, and one month later my TSH was 2,216, T4 was 15,55 and T3 was 5,18. But guess what, I still felt pretty bad. My face started looking like a moon, seriously. Puffy face, like a round ball. Felt pretty terrible.

After showing my GP the results, he told me I should start taking 50 ug instead of 25, as my hormone levels were more near the borderline. So I recently started taking 50 ug of Levothyroxine, and now I have to wait a while to see if I actually feel any better.

I`ve heard a lot about Thyroid Desiccated, and I might give it a try sooner or later. I´ll try giving Levo a chance ..

Please share your experience! Remember; together we are stronger 😀
Have a great day!
